Doug Neal is Owner and President of The Neal Firm, CPA, P.A. He began his firm in 1996 after a successful career in banking and tax so he could provide personalized service and financial guidance to individual and business clients. Mr. Neal is a Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Investment Advisor and he is a member of the S.C. Association of CPA's.
Mr. Neal has authored three books and manuals: Clergy Taxation Manual (for SC Conference Seminars); EZ Pay 1, 2, 3: Payroll Compliance Manual and Seminars; and Financial Planning from a Biblical Perspective: A Young Adult Study.
Outside of work activities, Mr. Neal is an active member in the Columbia and South Carolina communities. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Five Points and served as the Treasurer for 2010-2011. He has served Shandon United Methodist Church as a member of the Building Committee, past Lay Leader (2006-2009), Finance Committee Chair, Administrative Board, Staff Parish and Delegate to S.C. United Methodist Annual Conference (2009). He was a member of the Claflin University Board of Trustees from 1996-2008, serving on the Finance Committee and Chair of the Audit Committee. Additionally, he is the drummer for the local philanthropic band, Heart ‘N Soul, which plays for special events to help charities, foundations and nonprofits raise money.
Mr. Neal holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in taxation from The University of South Carolina.
